The Briefcase by ArchDragon The Briefcase by ArchDragon
This is a creation from the story I am currently writing. I've included an exert from the story to describe the briefcase.

"He made his way up the stairs to put away his briefcase. I was always in awe of his briefcase. Like almost everything we owned it was computerized. There was a small button on the front of it, which when pushed open it up. Once it was open, it was much like the book-sperser at the labs. All you had to do was specify what documents you wanted opened and the computer retrieved the files from my fatherís office. Like the book-sperser it made hard copies of the pages so he could give them out at a meeting rather than have everyone gather around a small computer screen. It also had an option to view the pages like an older computer to save the chances of losing copies."

Basically, this is a computer in a briefcase. But it also works as a teleporter. It can take copies of pages from an office and teleport them to whoever is using the briefcase.

The mostly awesomly cool thing is...these days you CAN get them! All you need is a laptop with a laptop bag (most of them come with one) and a wireless connection. You're all set!

Ok, a teleporter works by taking an object, breaking it into thousands of peices and reasembling it at it's destination. Now imagine there is a fly in the teleporter, something goes wrong....you could end up with fly eyes or something. :O

Speaking of teleporting, did anyonme hear on the news about a month ago that the Pentagon is actually working on it!?!? Apparently in theory (they haven't actually done it yet) when somehting gets teleported it leaves a copy of itsself behind which has to be destroyed. Just think though, if everyone could teleport it would get a bit out of hand, no one wants some stranger materialzing next to you in the shower!

Well, obviously you wouldn't put your reciever in your bathroom :P Actually I've heard that in theory it's impossible to do. More to the point, if it is possible, it's dangerous. What happends if there's a tiny glitch and you end up with your foot on your head. Or even worse...there's a fly in the teleporter with you :O

i like the fact that the computer screen is showing the same place as where it is... and its an interesting thought... im sure someone will inventa real one in the future... im not too fond of the text that goes with it... its a bit too factual for me... more telling the reader than incorporating it as part of the story... but i write very differently to u so thats to be expected :)

What's on the computer screen is nothing more than a reflection...so it's exactly what is infront of it. I'm sure that someone would have already invented at least the computer in the briefcase thing. If it's possible for teleportation, I'm sure that part will come about also.
And actually is it part of a 25 or so page long story which I intend to post on here eventually. :P
Of course it's only an excert and I probably chose the most boring part of the story to include. Hopefully you'll enjoy the rest of the story a lot more:D

Cool. You gave me a pretty cool idea of a computer in a briefcase, but it will need some pre sketches. Look cool, except why not put a white wall behind it? so it's like in a room, not ina desert?

Probably wouldn't hurt. Although the intention was sorta to show that it could be taken anywhere. But yeah, probably would look better in a room of some sort.
